New third-party party tool for monitoring App Engine cluster status

This morning Hyperic released support for Google App Engine monitoring on CloudStatus, Hyperic's
web-based performance monitoring application. CloudStatus gives you an
independent, real-time view into the health and performance of App
Engine.

We're excited about what the CloudStatus team has put together, and look forward to seeing other 3rd party tools and services for App Engine developers.

So go check out CloudStatus and let them know
what you think, or discuss right here on our Google Group.

IEEE EMC 2008 - Detroit, MI

I am here at the IEEE EMC 2008 Symposium in Detroit, MI and the attendance seems relatively light but the quality of attendees very good. Three companies are anchoring the exhibition as you enter; AR, ETS Lingren and Rohde & Schwarz. From a RF/microwave perspective, AR is featuring its high power amplifiers such as its 700 W .8 to 4.2 GHz CW, 120 W 4 to 8 GHz CW and 20 W 10 to 20 GHz CW units. ETS Lingren and R & S are actually overlapping their booths showing how they can combine their hardware and software to create complete system solutions for various industries such as automotive EMC solutions. ETS Lingren also is featuring their wide range of antennas and R & S is showing off their ESL EMI test receiver for cost conscious users who want to perform precise precompliance and diagnostic measurements up to 3 or 6 GHz.

The technical program is very strong with various workshops and a wide range of technical conference subjects including design, modeling/simulation, measurement/test, shielding and product safety. Next year the event will be in Austin, TX and hopes to expand more each year.

my cup runneth over...

[warning: thoughtful mood today] :)

I know I generally post fun stories and lots of pictures that are usually on a surface level for all my friends & family (and strangers) to smile at, and that's all great & good... But if it's okay with y'all, I want to do something a little different and post something that I'm feeling today.

It's amazing how God uses marriage... In the past five months of being married to Ryan I've learned a lot. And, I mean A LOT. It hasn't been all sunshine and roses or the picture-perfect image you see in the movies, but it's taught me so much about myself and what the true meaning of unconditional love through Christ is. Most of all, I've learned that God created marriage for the sole purpose of bringing all glory to Him through everything-- the trials, the good times, the slow times and the amazing times.

Lately I've been stressed. I know this isn't a huge shocker to those of you who know me, because I let things affect me probably more than they should. And with that stress, I sometimes let the other things in my life fall on the priority list, like my husband. I guess he’s easy to take for granted sometimes because I see him every day, and I know he’s pretty much stuck with me forever so he can’t leave :)

However, he has completely amazed me throughout the past couple weeks. Despite my ambivalence and distracted mind he has embraced me with open arms and taken care of my every need whether I ask for it or not. Whether he’s helped out with the little things (like a random hug when I’m going crazy) or the big things (like surprising me at work with a huge bouquet of roses), I have been immeasurably blessed by him and his love for me. I can only attribute the Lord for allowing Ryan the patience, mercy and unconditional love that I’ve really needed lately.

It reminds me of this verse in Ephesians: Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her to make her holy, cleansing her by the washing with water through the word, and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless.

Ryan has taught me the true meaning of loving your spouse the same way the Lord loves the church, and I am so thankful.

My cup runneth over. Thank you Lord for my amazing husband.
